W h a t   D o   W e   D o ?

The Foundation sponsors the education of children, primarily blind but not exclusively, and orphaned , enabling them to earn a living for themselves in the future. It seeks to give opportunities to these children to fulfil their potential: live life with dignity and deal with issues of life with confidence.

It is the brainchild of Yashpal Anand, who had a blind uncle. This uncle, through his own efforts learned music. He used his talent to lead prayers and entertain. This helped his self-respect and he was a useful member of the community.

The Foundation aims to raise funds by holding fundraising events and through generosity of donations.

We will continue to sponsor a child as long as they successfully complete each year of their studies. We will be able to increase the number of sponsorships as funds increase. The foundation aims to sponsor students to degree standard, as well as providing funds to undertake practical studies, thus enabling the children to make and market products.

	Provide education to nominated children
	Run a "talking book" library
	Provide Reader and Writer services to sightless students
	Promote cultural and recreational activities
	Provide Books, braille paper, slates and styluses
	Arrange social rehabilitation of the students by providing a range of services;
	e.g. Audio Typing, Receptionist, Basket Weaving, Chair Caning etc.

We publish an annual newsletter, which details events undertaken and the names of the students sponsored, and note their progress. If you would like to receive one, please let us know.
